There is a lovely spot on the planet right where the Tulalip and Swinomish people live. The Cascade Mountains roll down from their volcanic, snow-capped heights and right before the land rises and wrinkles up again in the Salish Sea, there is a broad valley where the sky likes to cast fantastic light at sunrise and sunset. Every springtime from March to the beginning of May (depending on the weather, of course), fields and fields are abloom with the vivid colors of countless tulips. North from the Stillaguamish River all the way to Mount Vernon, the land is fertile and yields much. At other times of the year, however, the fields are green or fallow - and if you don’t have the right vantage, can seem flat and static. The artist captures the beauty of the view from the lowest vantage point - a canal’s perspective - and even then, the sky will not disappoint. Original 1 of 1. Painted over October 7th - 8th, 2022. Signed and titled.
